Fotospeed Academy returns for 2021! Fotospeed have announced the return of their Fotospeed Academy workshops for 2021. The Fotospeed Academy, now in its 5th year, offers photographers a wide range of workshops with professional photographers from a wide array of genres. The Academy classes are already in full swing, with workshops running until July with more dates being added all the time. This year or until circumstances allow, classes will be virtual due to COVID-19 but will still offer the same quality teachings to its attendees. The full day workshops promise knowledge and hands-on experience to all who attend, and ensure smaller class sizes so everyone can have one-on-one support if necessary. Jean Brown RIP Jean sadly passed away 24 April 2019. She was one of the club's longest serving members and her husband, the late Ron held several positions in the club including President. Our sympathies go to her family and friends. Funeral Thursday 2nd May, 2.30 pm at Sunderland Crematorium.
Subject, a panel of three prints/PDI on a theme. To be judged as a panel and prints to be marked on the reverse to show there position in the panel. Each member allowed up to two panels of prints and one panel of PDI. Panels can be colour, monochrome or a mixture. All images to be taken between 1st January and 31st December 2019.

Two images were awarded 30 marks, 'Behind the Veil' by John Doyle and 'Winter Copse' by Neil Maughan of Durham and it was the latter which was awarded Best in Competition.

Meeting Cancelled, due to the adverse weather conditions the meeting for 1st March has been cancelled.
NCPF Club Championship 2018, the results are now available on the NCPF website. In the prints the first three clubs were Keswick 238 marks, Durham 215 and Northallerton 203. Sunderland was 12th out of 17 with 194 marks. In the DPI Keswick were first with 222, Hexham second with 213 and Durham third with 209. Sunderland were 22nd out of 24 with 177. The judging was somewhat unusual with only 3 clubs getting over 200 out of a possible 300 in the digital.
Les Tindale RIP, Les, who was a club member for many years until ill health prevented him from continuing, has sadly died. His funeral will be at Sunderland Crematorium on Monday 8th January at 3 pm.
Inter Club, the result of the 2017 inter-club competition was, Sunderland 314 points, Tynemouth 312 points, Gateshead 304 points.
Wear Area Battle, Sunderland were 5th out of the 9 clubs which took part, Stanhope were 4th and Consett, Washington and Durham shared 1st place.
Charles Eagles are holding a monthly competition, the prize for which is a framed 12 x 16 inch print of the winning entry. If interested please see their Facebook site.

AGM Presentations
The results of the NCPF Annual Competition are now available on the NCPF website. In the mono prints Sundreland were 17th out of 26, in the colour prints we were joint 6th out of 25 amd in the PDI 11th out of 25.
In the NCPF Club Competition Sunderland were 11th in the Prints and 18th in the PDI,s. Keswick were first in both with Durham second in the PDI and four clubs were joint second in the Print Competition. After deducting each clubs lowest marked entry Gosforth were placed second. Results are available on the NCPF website.
The results of the Sunderland/Tynemouth/Gateshead Inter club competition are, 1st Sunderland 321 points, joint 2nd Gateshead and Tynemouth 319 point. In the Wear Area Competition Sunderland were second with Washington first and Durham third.
The full results of the Northern Counties Annual Competition are now available on the NCPF website. Sunderland was joint 5th in the monochrome prints with a mark of 68, joint 4th in the colour prints with 71 and joint 7th in the digital images with 72.
Presentation Night
Set Subject Competition 2017, Subject 'Street Photography'. Images to be taken between 1st January and 31st December 2016.
No meetings at St Peters Church on 2nd and 30th May as these dates are Bank Holidays.
Sunderland came second in the print section out of 15 clubs competing. In the PDI we were tenth out of twenty. Best print was Isolation by Arnold Hubbard and best PDI was Under Attack by John Doyle. Follow link for full results.
